Up Close and Personal
Josh calls Northern Utah home after moving throughout the western U.S. in pursuit of the perfect waterfowl season. He has been hunting since he was old enough to walk through the marsh with his dad and has been guiding waterfowl professionally for 21 years.
During college Josh took a part-time job in the hunting department at a local Sportsman’s Warehouse. His childhood hobby eventually became a successful and fulfilling career when that part-time job turned into the waterfowl buyer for the nationally expanding company. Josh has worked, hunted and built relationships with the leaders in the outdoors industry and that experience has brought him to Avery as a territory manager.
When he’s not hunting, Josh is still shooting his shotgun. He started shooting Sporting Clays when he was 19 and quickly progressed from beginner to Master Class shooter. He’s won many local, state and national shoots in addition to taking second place at the World Open in 2002.
Besides shooting,Josh loves to travel, spend time with his dogs and volunteer for wildlife organizations. He regularly hosts Delta Waterfowl banquets and mentors junior hunters. He also likes to customize, modify and create his own hunting accessories from decoys to blinds.
